At Cornerstone VNA, we are proud to honor the exceptional compassion, skill, and dedication of our team members through our Above and Beyond Awards. What makes these quarterly recognitions so special is that they come directly from the patients and families we serve, who take the time to recognize caregivers whose compassion and dedication have made a lasting impact.
This quarter, we are proud to recognize seven outstanding Home Care clinicians with an Above and Beyond Award. These individuals were selected based on the many kudos they received from patients and community members throughout the past year, reflecting their exceptional dedication, compassion, and commitment to those they serve.
A few of those heartfelt comments are highlighted below. While we would love to share every single one, there were simply too many to fit into one blog post! These seven clinicians are an all-star lineup, and their compassion, dedication, and impact shine through in every grateful message.
Ashley Atkinson, RN
Ashley has been part of the Cornerstone VNA team for 2 years; she is a highly skilled home care nurse. She steps up often to help, and her kindness has not gone unnoticed. She is known as an excellent clinician who exhibits skill and dedication.
One of her patients describes that, “After Surgery Ashley worked with PRH Wound Care to successfully close the ankle incision. Ashley was friendly, professional, and well qualified. A perfect 10!” A coworker describes Ashley as “always willing to step in and help wherever needed, frequently picking up additional patients and volunteering to take back-up on-call shifts when the team was in a difficult position. Her reliability and willingness to support her colleagues make a meaningful difference in our ability to provide care. She is consistently thorough, attentive to detail, and deeply committed to delivering the highest quality care to her patients.”
Benjamin Ibey, PTA
Benjamin has been part of the Cornerstone VNA team for almost 2 years, his patients consistently give him 10 out of 10 stars! He is often specially requested by patients who come back on our services and inspires recommendations to our rehab services because of his exceptional care!
The wife of a patient describes Ben as “a perfect fit for my husband. His patience, his humor and positive feedback was crucial in the first two weeks. I’m so glad we got the additional two weeks; it was a game changer.” The daughter of a patient said, “Ben is amazing” and she spoke very highly of him. Another patient said, “Ben was exceptionally kind, professional and helpful, great all-around person!”
Ethan Qualey, PT
Ethan has been part of the Cornerstone VNA team for a year and a half and is praised often by his patients they call him a “keeper,” they appreciate him and his knowledge. Patients also really feel that he is understanding and caring.
A wife’s patients shares, “I just wanted to tell you how happy we are working with Ethan. He works so well with my husband and has been spot on with exercises that have strengthened his muscles in his legs. I mentioned this to our Oncologist who asked who was our PT and she responded ‘Tell Ethan he is doing a great job.’ Please give him lots of praise! We appreciate him and all his knowledge.”
Jen Maimone, PT
Jen has been a special part of the Cornerstone VNA team for over 27 years. Patients credit their progress with her optimism, guidance, and encouragement!
A patient said to Jen, “Thank you Jen for getting me through the first 10 days following my hip replacement surgery. I couldn’t have asked for a more kind, friendly and knowledgeable in-home PT expert to get me on the right path to recovery. Your optimism and encouragement helped me overcome my pain and look forward to my improvement! Bless you Jen!”
Juliana Roma, RN
Juliana has been part of the Cornerstone VNA team for 2 years, her patients report that she is a true asset to our organization and a shining example of what makes Cornerstone VNA so special and given frequent kudos for her exceptional care and kindness.
One patient recounted that, “Julianna has been by my side throughout this difficult ordeal. Her dedication, skill, and compassion have been nothing short of extraordinary. My wounds have been particularly challenging to treat, yet Julianna has gone above and beyond to ensure I receive the best possible care. Her attention to detail, perseverance, and empathy have made a profound difference in my recovery. Thanks to Julianna’s exceptional care and my doctors and specialists, I am happy to report that I am almost fully on the mend. I wholeheartedly recommend her to her superiors for recognition and to any patient in need of outstanding nursing care.”
Kathleen Le, PT, DPT
Kathleen has been part of the Cornerstone VNA team for a little over a year. Patients and caregivers have shared positive feedback about Kathleen’s care. She is known to have a great personality and to be very professional.
We received a phone call from a patient’s husband who said he got correct guidance to bring his wife to urgent care to test for UTI. He said, “Kathleen is wonderful.” Another patient’s daughter shared, “I just wanted to thank you for the care and attention Kathleen gave my father. I know he appreciated you.”
Ren, LPN
Ren has been part of the Cornerstone VNA team for a year and a half. They have been given compliments from their coworkers on their clinical judgement and patient advocacy. They are known for going the extra mile for patients and for their thoughtfulness.
A patient called in and wanted to extend her sincerest thanks to Ren for all the support for the many months she was on service. She was with Cornerstone VNA for over a year. She built a strong rapport with Ren, appreciating the extra steps taken to ensure she had enough supplies, and emotional support. She said if she ever needs home care services again that she would absolutely use Cornerstone VNA again and would recommend us to her friends and family.
