Earlier this year, we kicked off our “Above and Beyond” Awards. Each Quarter, this award is given to staff nominated by our patients, families, or community members. The “Above and Beyond” award celebrates team members who go above and beyond in providing exceptional care and support, and who have exceeded patient or client expectations.
Our inaugural award was given out at the end of February, and we were pleased to recognize Michelle Dow, Homemaker in our Life Care – Private Duty Department!
During our annual Staff Meeting on June 27th, we recognized our Quarter 2 Above and Beyond Award recipients, representing our four Home Care Teams. Congratulations Todd Burnett, PT, DPT, CLT, WCC, Erica Seawards, RN, BSN, CRNI, Natalie Graveline, RN, and Kayla Palmer, RN. Home Care Director, Stacey Genest RN, MSN, WCC, shares some words about each of our Home Care Above and Beyond Award recipients:
Todd provides exceptional care for his patients and goes above and beyond providing specialized lymphedema and wound treatments to patients. Todd actively listens to patients and their families and helps them overcome barriers and challenges in their home environment. He is an exceptional patient advocate and is willing to help patients overcome challenges that they would not have been able to without his support. He is also a Preceptor to new therapists who join our team and is a knowledgeable resource to his peers. Todd is an asset to Cornerstone VNA!
Erica provides our patients with high quality, excellent care! Erica goes above and beyond with her IV specialty and has a high level of clinical expertise that allows her to care for any of our patients. She also has experience in leadership which allows her to be a great resource and role model to her peers! Erica actively listens to patient concerns and has a unique ability to respond with compassion and understanding. She builds trust with our patients and positively impacts our patient satisfaction. Erica is a key member of the Home Care team!
Natalie provides outstanding and empathetic care to our patients! Natalie goes above and beyond by being a mentor to student nurses and her peers while also balancing high quality patient care. She is currently working on her Chronic Care certification to be able to provide patient’s with more resources and best practices related to their chronic conditions. Natalie communicates clearly with her patients, is dependable, and exceeds with meeting patient expectations. She also excels with her follow-up for all patients and goes above the normal expectations to make sure there are no unanswered questions. Natalie is a valued member of the Cornerstone VNA team!
Kayla provides personalized, compassionate care to all patients! Kayla is a Preceptor for new staff and student nurses! She has a complex skill set that allows her to care for our most complex patients. Kayla goes above and beyond with all patients and is learning how to care for our pediatric patients as well. She prioritizes the needs of patients and consistently delivers high quality care. Kayla is a vital member of the Home Care team!
